As Chris Brogan puts is: "It's Not Who is in Your Circle, It's Who Circles You" That will be the key when it comes to search rankings and getting search results for brands. It seems that Google is still working this out. However, it can only help a brand to have recommendations from someone in your circle and see that information that Google's search shows under the listing such as "Ford Motor Company Shared This" or probably even more weight if "[Enter Your Friend's Name Here] Shared This" comes up!

So then that of course brings up the logical next question: "How do I get Circled?" Chris Brogan offers up some great tips on 'getting circled':

Some Ways to Get Circled By People You Follow
Comment with meaningful and useful information or ideas. Someone shared a link to a related video to one that I had posted, and I found it useful, so I circled them back.
Share and add commentary to posts of that person, explaining why you find it interesting. Everyone loves a little boost of promotion.
Comment with relevant links to your own work, if it makes sense.
Have a well filled-out profile. The better your profile, the more likely someone is to want to connect with you.
Post interesting things worth seeing, should this person decide to look at what you’ve shared publicly.
