Polaroid is opening Fotobars, starting with the first opening in February in Delray Beach (practically just up the street from me.) The idea is that people will come in to wirelessly beam photos from their phones and social media networks to a workstation and print photos. They can also order photos on other materials, such as acrylic, wood and canvas.

My thought is, does anyone really print photos much anymore and if you want something cool printed on, let's say, a canvas, couldn't you just order it online? Maybe this is for the more technologically-challenged smart phone users (like my parents) or maybe its just a novelty that won't last long. I give props to Polaroid for trying to adapt their brand to modern technology instead of just fading away, but is it too little too late?
