And I Thought I Disliked Internet Explorer!

I found this kind of funny. Australian e-tailer Kogan threatens to charge an internet tax to retailers who are still using IE7. When visitors to their site don't have an updated IE version, they get a pop up message warning them that they will be taxed 6.8% extra for their purchase to pay for the development efforts necessary to keep the site showing up in the old version of the browser. http://mashable.com/2012/06/15/kogan-ie-7-tax/

That's pretty hilarious. Talk about trying to get people to catch up with the times. Are they sure this won't hurt their business, though?

As a business owner, I thought of that, for sure. It is pretty gutsy to risk potential business like that, but on the other hand, if keeping up with IE7 coding is costing so much, maybe its worth it to maybe lose some customers but gain some new upgraded customers? I would love to see the metrics on abandoned carts for this little experiment!
