Facebook and FTC Finalized Privacy Settlement

Earlier this month, the FTC and Facebook came to an agreement regarding the ongoing investigation the FTC has been conducting regarding Facebook's highly scrutinized privacy policies and release of information. Facebook did not have to admit to any wrongdoing, however Facebook does have to be more transparent about the sharing of users' information. Here is what [URL="http://mashable.com/2012/08/10/facebook-privacy-settlement/"]Mashable[/URL] reported, "As part of the deal, Facebook must make it clear to users when the social network shares their information beyond what their privacy settings mandate, operate a program to protect users’ privacy and get users’ approval before sharing their information.Facebook will also be subject to an independent inspection of its privacy practices every two years for the next two decades."
