Yahoo Password Leak Announced

Rate this Entry
It seems that there has been quite a bit of hacking and password leaking on the internet lately. Unfortunately Yahoo Voices was hacked last week and 450,000 passwords were posted online. Last week Mashable wrote: "Security for the service appears to have been compromised early Thursday morning. A list titled “Owned and Exposed” which is “brought to you by the D33Ds Company” was posted online revealing a number of details for the service including all of the email addresses and passwords for Yahoo Voices’ 450,000 users."

Mashable also gives specifics on how to check to see if any of your Yahoo Voice or related passwords were compromised. They warned "But it wasn’t just Yahoo! email addresses that have been infiltrated: Gmail, MSN, Hotmail, Comcast and AOL accounts have also been hacked. (Yahoo! Voices allows you to sign in with non-Yahoo! email addresses.)" So it might be necessary to check on this even if you do not have a Yahoo account that you access Yahoo Voices with.
