With all the traditional New Years resolutions being promised and started this week (often again) Mashable posted 8 different tech solutions to help you keep your resolutions if you think you will have a hard time using your own will power alone, or maybe just need the extra reminder or incentive.

1. 21Habit is an app that you have to pay $21 for and you get a dollar back when you check in every day for 21 days in a row to report on whether you accomplished or failed at your goal for the day. It goes by the honor system.

2. livifi is an app that can keep track of 40 different goals for you.

3. Strava is an app that allows you to share your runs and rides with friends and even share routes via GPS.

4. Health Month is a game that gives you "life points" and takes them away when you partake in bad or unhealthy activities and allows you to earn more when you exercise or eat right, etc.

5. Mindbloom is an app that lets you enter goals and lifestyle changes and build a "tree" which grows and turns green if your lifestyle and choices are good.

6. FitID is an app that helps you monitor work outs and diets and is free for the iPhone.

7. Stickk is a website where you enter your credit card information and wager money on whether or not you can maintain your selected goals and you pay if you cannot, but you can also gain money for keeping your goals.

8. GYMPACT is an app that asks you to pledge a dollar amount and the number of days per week you want to work out at the gym. (Say $5 per visit to the gym 3 times per week.) And the app charges you if you do not meet your goal by checking in at the gym and having the app verify the GPS location too. If you meet the goal, it pays you via Paypal.
