Google In Talks For New E-Commerce Product

Both [URL="http://mashable.com/2011/12/01/google-amazon-shipping/"]Mashable[/URL] and Wall Street Journal reporting today about a potential deal int he works between Google and some major online retailers to offer an online order processing feature connected with their product listings that would include a low cost next day delivery option. An e-commerce deal like this would change the face of e-commerce online and take a big hit at Amazon.

Google has pitched the idea to Macy’s, Gap and OfficeMax, among others, according to [URL="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204012004577072323400561792.html?mod=rss_whats_news_technology&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wsj%2Fxml%2Frss%2F3_7015+(WSJ.com%3A+What's+News+Technology)"]The Wall Street Journal[/URL], which cited “people familiar with the matter.” A Macy’s rep told WSJ that Google “approached us with the idea, but we haven’t made any decisions.”
