New Discovery Engine Launched by Siri's Sister Company

The same technology that powers Siri is in Trapit, a new startup just launched in beta and is a pretty amazing discovery engine. It really gives some insight into the future technology of search.

"[COLOR=#474747]Trapit, a startup that personalizes content with the same artificial intelligence technology that powers Apple’s[/COLOR][URL="http://mashable.com/follow/topics/siri"]Siri[/URL][COLOR=#474747], is launching its public beta.[/COLOR][COLOR=#474747][URL="http://trap.it/"]Trapit[/URL] was [URL="http://mashable.com/2011/06/21/trapit/"]unveiled in June[/URL] as a system for personalizing content based on keywords, URLs and reading habits. The company describes itself as a “Pandora for content.” By using its A.I. technology, Trapit can identify related content based on contextual data from more than 50,000 sources.[/COLOR]
[COLOR=#474747]Like Siri, Trapit was born from the $200 million CALO Project (Cognitive Assistant that Learns and Organizes). CALO was the largest artificial intelligence project in U.S. history. It was funded by DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), the Department of Defense’s research arm."
